Adult Classes Beginning the first Week in May:

INTERMEDIATE WHEEL THROWING
Begins Monday, May 5th
Instructor: Don Whitney 
8 weeks: Mondays  6:30 – 9:00PM
Limit 4

Challenge the potter who has learned the basics of throwing on the wheel. Classroom focus will be on reinforcing  the correct technique to throw bigger and thinner.  Key learning will be to embrace failure as we push our limits.  Students will be expected to share constructive criticism on form. 


INTRO TO POTTER'S WHEEL: WEDNESDAY

Begins Wednesday, May 7th
Instructor: Hillary McLaughlin
8 Weeks: Wednesdays, 7:15 – 9:30pm

INTRO TO POTTER'S WHEEL: THURSDAY
Begins Thursday, May 8th
Instructor: Don Whitney
8 weeks: Thursdays, 6:30 - 9pm,
Limit: 6

Introduce the curious and/or aspiring potters to the challenges and joys of the electric pottery wheel.  Class is intended for those new to clay or those who have been away from clay for a long period of time but are interested in making pots.   Classroom focus will be on learning correct technique and understanding the full process of creating pottery. All students will complete the course with finished, functional pieces.

Adult Classes: $150

Featuring work from the Shakespeare is Alive and Well in Dorchester program, an afterschool residency program serving youth in grades 1 – 8 at the O'Hearn Elementary, the Murphy K-8 School and the Lucy Stone School. This year students have been using The Tempest as inspiration for artmaking, and their 2D and 3D works will be exhibited.
